“Your sky is so cloudy; I can barely see a single STAR...”
“Even though the gods go crazy, even though the STARS are blind...”
If you could only hear me shout your name, if only you could hear me once again, the STARS in the sky will never be the same.”
What do these lines have in common? Exactly, STARS! And that’s what we’re going to reach right now. What does each star mean to you? Does it mean luck? dreams? or determination to every DETOURminations in your life?
For me stars are signs of carelessness and bad luck! You might be asking why I feel so, or interpreting stars as such. It’s because when I’m doing something and I’m not that careful enough especially when I’m in a hurry running after someone or something, everything ends in stars- I bump posts, humps and craters in the moon, I mean, along my way.
Watching stars every night, for me, is neither a sign of availability of time nor abundance in money to buy the equipments in gazing stars but a sign of poverty, instead. We don’t have enough money to buy roof. So every night, I sleep directly looking the sky. Corns!
Anyway, let’s get serious and talk sensible business. Stars, for me, are paths in life and the thrill and excitements in every path. Why? Have you noticed the heavens in a clear night? You can first see the brightest and the largest star. And then the less luminous stars following the brightest ones. Sometimes when I’m not contented, I try to concentrate looking at the stars and there I found much more stars, less luminous than the second ones. And as my vision sails farther and farther, I noticed that the smallest stars are reaching other brighter stars and much brighter stars.
I have interpreted it myself that stars are like our life’s path. Though not every path we are undertaking leads to what we are trying to follow or achieve, I’m sure there could be a detour or another way. There could be a way you don’t know where it will bring you but who knows, it may lead you towards the summit of your own Mt. Dreams.
Just like the recently done confirmation at our parish church. YFC, which is a club where I belong, tried to convince me to join this confirmation, which is a Holy Sacrament in the Roman Catholic religion. Because of a conflict in my schedule, I wasn’t able to join the meeting intended for this topic. At home, my father informed me about confirmation also. He said it’s good for me to avail this by now while I’m still young so that I can already be a soldier or a defender of the Catholic faith earlier than the others. I have never thought of the idea that the confirmation, my father and the club YFC was telling was the same. At the church, I found some of my schoolmates but I didn’t wonder why. Later on, I noticed more schoolmates of mine especially from the higher years, and then there I found out that it was the YFC club and with them was the adviser.
I just try to hide myself from them because I haven’t attended the meeting. I’m afraid they might are angry of me.
